Finally we have pretty much everything together, we are on the road and heading Sundsvall Raceway for TD round 3!

Feels a bit too good to be true that we have our own trailer with all our stuff behind us right now after this awful start on this season!! 😀

Fueling up! 🙂

And Sundsvall Raceway here we come! 😀

The first two weeks in June we made a huge progress on our trailer, we went from pretty much something that we couldn’t  use to anything and all suddenly the trailer is standing outside the shop, felt pretty amazing! Just too good to be true!! 😀

I did have a great plan from the beginning with this project, but of course it went straight to hell because of people / companies that didn’t do what they said they will do… But at least I gave you a sweet looking ass and a great working lift gate that I’m really satisfied with! And reaching this far would never been possible without my awesome team! Max, John, Patrik, Dad! And our awesome sponsors and friends that been supporting this project, Erik, Lasse and Per from Bengtssons Smide, Danne, Patrik and Alex from Berga Lås & Larm, Roffe from The Parts Stop Sweden, David and Bengt from Swedol in Arninge, Johan from LSF Custom Paint, Peter and Patrik from Rörmekano, Jari from Eltric, Dolle from Nicma Tools, Kenneth at Swecomposite, Göran at Takmakarna, Åke Granholm for letting me use his truck, Janne and Isak from our own companies and of course our own companies that I steel time from working on this! Thank you everyone!!! 😀

Work pictures from the last couple of weeks below.

Isak are getting the hydraulic pipes in place for the lift gate.

Dad are fabricating some stuff.

The lift gate are finally in place and I can open and close it, a huge step forward! 🙂

John are getting some paint on the lift platform.

Finally, the frames around and the doors everywhere on the trailer starting to get in place!! 😀

All the aluminum on the outside and on the inside of the lift gate are in place! 🙂

The moment of truth! 🙂 Pretty scary moment I must say, I decided to take something cheaper and heavier than the Chevelle so I did try to lift up my daily driver and like you can see, everything worked just fine if it works fine for this it will work fine for the Chevelle!

Danne and Patrik from Berga Lås & Larm went by to mount all locks in the doors, feels good to have high quality locks in the trailer!

Roffe from The Parts Stop Sweden went by and helped us out to get a fuse box and some other electrical stuff installed.

Rear door installed.

More material from Bengtssons Smide are ready to get mounted on the trailer! 🙂

The tail light frames and the sides on the platform are in place, looks awesome if you ask me! 😀

The extension on the platform is all done!

Not much room to get out from the trailer shop…

Finally the trailer are outside and the shop is empty!

On the road again for the first time in about 6 months!

Outside the ÅBM Racing shop, this feels so crazy good!! 🙂

Ok, so we got no truck, no trailer and no motor to the Chevelle. It’s about 220 hours before I want to be heading for Tierp Arena So starting today I won’t do any customer work in the shop, only spend my time on my own racing deal and hope for the best and that at least something will go my way… It feels like it won’t work to get the things together for TD round 2 at Tierp Arena but I’m not a quitter even when I know I should stop doing what I do..! Tuesday I will get the last stuff to the motor, pistons, wrist pins, pushrods and some other parts to update my rocker arms and then do some cylinder head machining, so there is a lot of work just to get the Chevelle ready… And the trailer have no working lift gate, no air lines to the brakes and suspension, no doors, no lights at all, no interior and the rest of the stuff I have forgot that also is missing! I will of course get a lot of help and that might make it possible to make this work but in the end it’s all up to me and I’m the one that will spend about 200 hours on this the coming 9.5 days, wish me luck because I think I might need it! 🙂

It’s you and me now!

Below some pics from the past week.

John and our sponsor Johan Jarbeck from LSF Custom Paint have made and awesome job getting the last part of the body repair done and get some white paint on it so it will look a bit better! 😀

Patrik have spent time getting some of the air system for the suspension and brakes moves around to make more room above the wheel boxes and also started to change all the hoses and stuff so everything will be like new to make sure we won’t have problems with it in the future. 🙂 He also got the hydraulic assembly for the lift gate in place.

I have spent time to get the last things for the mounting of the big squared tubings for the lift gate in place and also started to check how the platform did fir now when everything starts to get in place.

I went by our sponsor Swedol and did fill up my whole trunk on my car with stuff! 😀

We also got a lot of material from Bengtssons Smide to put on the inside and outside of the tailgate platform.

We are on the entry list for the Tierp race, looks like it will be a really cool one! Hope we will be there.. 🙂

Finally last week it started to happen things for real with the tail lift gate on the trailer! 😀 Parts have been laying around for a while but a lot have been missing so we can do the last stuff and finally start to mount the parts to the trailer.

Welding up high… And I really don’t like being this high up from the ground, but a man got to do what a man got to do! 😉

Trailer side finally repaired and done! 🙂

Time to get this heavy assemblys that includes the squared tubing, lift cylinder and the plate that holds it in place mounted to the trailer side.

A huge thanks to Erik Bengtsson from Bengtssons Smide for taking their dump loader the whole way to our shop to lift these pieces in place! A lot of things would never been done if we wouldn’t have Bengtssons Smide as one of our partners, we really do appreciate what you are doing for us! 🙂

Precision work by Erik, he made it look so easy!! This is just awesome!!

The main parts are in place but there is a lot of work left to do!…

Next step is the final mounting of the lift gate frame to the trailer and then get this platform above in place.

We are slowly moving forward, hopefully we can have the trailer done enough so we at least can use it so we can get to the track, soon I hope…

The main part of the tail gate is finally pretty much all done.

We should been in Malmö for the first race in the series last weekend but due to the problem with the hurted motor on the test weekend and that I couldn’t get new parts in time I decided to cancel that event and work on the trailer instead.

Plastic fantastic… I said when I made the body to the Chevelle “NEVER AGAIN” and here I am but on a much bigger thing..

I hope that the tail gate will be ready to mount on the trailer really soon.. Going to feel really good to close this big hole!

Our sponsor Johan Jarbeck from LSF Custom Paint that did the paint job on the Chevelle went by to help us out some, for sure something that we appreciate!

He did look a bit suspicious when it was time to mix some plastic to do “the final touch” 😀

Assembly time, this feels really good!!! 🙂

Patrik is doing his “thing” whatever that is?.. 🙂

Well, he also got the floor back in place in the part that is our future bathroom.

But pretty much directly after he fixed one thing he made a big hole in the trailer side wall instead.. 😉

It looks like this plastic thing never ends… John have made an awesome job the last week, that’s for sure!

Lift gate welding.

Lift gate pre bend!

Patrik are checking trough the air suspension and brake system.

All mechanical stuff when it comes to brakes and air suspension are now all done!

Not much done on the trailer but at least we got some hours spent on it…

 Ready for some fiberglass! 🙂

 Right side done.

Left side done! 😀 Me and John have figured out how to do this in a good way so it’s almost fun to do it now..! 😉

Patrik spent some hours cleaning up, get away the rust and paint brake parts. Now we are waiting for some parts and then the brakes are ready to go together again! 🙂

Last weeks work on the trailer, not much but got some stuff made!

This was NOT a happy moment… I really don’t like working with fiberglass, don’t like the smell or the dust that gets in exactly everywhere…

Time to get some paint on the parts for the lift gate, thanks to Johan Jarbeck at LSF Custom for helping us with the material!

Ready for some stinky plastic job…

Of course we found some more moisture damages…..

But we fixed them directly! 🙂

The outside finally starts to get ready for some layers of fiberglass! 😀

During the whole Easter holiday me and Patrik did work on the trailer, about 16-18 hours a day in a cold dark shop so I can tell that we are pretty tired right now… (I can for sure tell you that without Patrik this trailer would never be done) Max also spent one and a half day and John showed up and helped out for a half day yesterday. Must say that I REALLY appreciate all the help from my guys right now! I am just like always the spider that needs to be everywhere but it feels good to see that stuff gets done without me doing it all by myself! 🙂

And we have now finally stopped tearing down the trailer and started to build on it instead and that feels so crazy good, FINALLY!!! 😀

The big reason why we could start to build on it is that I last week got all the hydraulic cylinders and stuff I started to order in the end of November last year…. I also got a lot of material from Patrik Widd that helped us to water cut and bend some stainless plates and all the doors to the trailer, we got a ton of steel material for the lift gate from our awesome sponsor Bengtssons Smide, I went by Martin Lundqvist at Autocut and did get some last minute help to water cut some stuff.

Pictures from the past week below.

Finally time to say goodbye after 5 days and nights together!

A day at Autocut with King Martin Lundqvist, a huge thanks for helping me out water cutting the huge squared steel tubings that will hold our lift gate to the trailer! 🙂

Over load!? 😉 A huge thanks to Erik, Lasse and Per at Bengtsson Smide for cutting up the pieces and getting us all the material to the lift gate, you guys are awesome!!! Also thanks to Erik for some great welding advice!

So what you see here is the lift gate, looks like we got some time left to spend on it before it’s all done?… 😉

Finally, after three months delay from the company I ordered the hydraulic stuff from we got them in the shop just beside the trailer, so right now we are around Christmas in the building schedule… 😉

All the doors and some other stuff that Patrik Widd helped us water cut and bend.

Thanks to Johan Jarbeck at LSF Custom Paint for helping us out with material to paint the lift gate after fabricating it!

To make about 300 threads in the big squared tubings that are 10mm thick you need the right tools for the job! Thanks to our sponsor Dolle at Nicma Tools for supporting us with great quality  drill bits and taps! 🙂

Fabricating, machining, welding all damn day!! 😀

Patrik is taking the suspension and the brakes completely apart so we can check it trough and rebuild so it will be like brand new! 🙂

Patrik cutting out some more stuff…

John went by to climb the trailer sides… 🙂

Marcus is not in the team anymore but he is still a big part of ÅBM Racing as a sponsor so he went by for about 5 minutes and got this dirty, don’t understand how he does it.. 😀 😀

Buhu, moisture damages… 🙁 At least I got a little bit happier when Max went by and helped us! 🙂

At least we are moving on with the damages… Old junk is away and new wood is in place, next step is getting new fiberglass in the wood.

Plastic fantastic! Thanks to Kenneth Holmberg at Swecomposite that did give us great advice how to repair and also went by with fiberglass material and all the plastic stuff we need to repair the trailer! 🙂

A lift gate to be!.. Next step it’s to get this parts mounted on the trailer! So soon we might be able to get a car in it.

We have cut out some stuff, a lot of trash is it!

The shop is cleaned up and it’s time to go home, hopefully we can get some more stuff done next weekend again! 🙂
