At Gardermoen Raceway!

A soft Thursday at Gardermoen Raceway today! 🙂

Me and Sofi arrived at Jörgens shop on Tuesday evening and we loaded the Vette and some other stuff (in rain of course! 😉 ) After a pizza dinner!

Then yesterday morning me, Sofi and Bänkt started the rainy trip to Norway and Gardermoen Raceway!

Arrived at Gardermoen Raceway around 18:00 and started to unload and build our pit!

After that we had some great dinner made by Bänkts wife Babsan! 🙂

Today we have spent the day making some changes on the Vette and relax some!

Inspected and approved!

Jörgen and Katrin arrived a little while ago and now it’s time for some dinner made by Jörgens mother! 🙂

Ok, it’s time to make make drag racing great and fun again! 💪🏻😎

But slowly! 😅

It’s already about 14 weeks since the last outing at Dala Järna Raceway, yeah time really flies! 🙃

Me and Sofi unloaded the Chevelle 4 weeks after that, and it took me 4 more weeks just to get it in the right place in the shop… Then 4 more weeks before I even touched it! 😴

But during that time I at least cleaned out the mess in the truck and trailer after the season, got it parked in the off season spot and made it ready for the winter! 👌🏻 The trailer is hopefully ready for the yearly inspection next year, I never did it before the winter like I always want because I need to finish up some stuff on the truck that I’m not happy with.. Rear fenders are coming loose, got some electrical issues with both the tail lights and ABS, and some leaks that needs to be fixed first!.. But that won’t be made until after the winter! ☃️💤💤🙊

When it comes to the Chevelle I started to take it apart around 2 weeks ago! 💣 I also did fix stuff I should have done for years now! 😂 I solved some issues with the pro jacks that been going on forever! 👌🏻 I also did repair my scales that I bought parts to repair 8 years ago!… 🙈 Just happy I found the little electrical component after all these years… 🤓

Then I put the heavy girl down on the scales, mostly because I been on my way for a while to check some stuff to do some minor changes to it! 🤠 Then I started to take it apart, l have really lost the spirit, but I say to myself! “All that I do now is done, and don’t need to be made later” and that’s a pretty good plan if you ask me!…. 🤪

So I will continue like that and see what the future brings!? 😊

A while ago I found a picture of the Chevelle from Santa Pod back in 2019! 🏠🧱 And I assume that this is what my buddy Darryl Bradford and also speaker at the Pod saw when he named the Chevelle “the house brick on wheels from hell” 🤔😎😂😂

This also reminds me of the time when I was building the Chevelle, A LOT of people told me all the time that a car with this body style will never be fast! And using a Chevy engine will for sure never make it put down any good numbers! 🙃 You must have a Hemi engine and an aerodynamic body style! 🤨

Well, I think my Chevrolet Chevelle 1965 with original body style, about 2700 pounds, powered with a 528cui standard bore space (4.840”) big block Chevrolet with conventional heads (no cheating Big Chief stuff), a PSI D screw blower on the top is pretty ok anyway! 😁 I mean it makes enough power to end up with 0,95 to 60ft 3.84@196mph or 315km/h to the 1/8 mile, 5.8813 @ 242.55mph or 390.35km/h on the 1/4 mile! 😎

With those numbers I’m pretty sure I can say that I did show that they all were way wrong! Right?! 🤠

Wow, what a throw back Thursday with memories! 🤠

Today Facebook told me that it is 9 years since we started on the trailer (The White Hell) for real! 😳 I bought the 2005 year model Gray & Adams trailer in 2015, back then it was just 10 years old (kind of new compared to many others) and I must say it turned out pretty good after a lot of work, money, problems and A LOT of more problems and issues during the way! 😅😂

I knew what I wanted and I pretty much have it today! I made my dream come true, all needed was hard work and having the right mindset on a bumpy road of getting it done all the way! 🫡

Here is some before and after pics on the outside and on the inside upper and lower floor! 🥳 It’s pretty amazing that it is the same trailer!… 🙃 And I think it now has been kind of all done for about 2 years, well except for maintenance and stuff I found that wasn’t done all right from the beginning…

The only thing I really miss about those early years working on it is my inspiration and interest of working like a maniac 24/7!… Wish I could find some of that spirit again!… 🤔

WOW! 😳 12 years ago! 😅 Got a memory on FB from 2012 when we did visit the “Home Of Speed” Malmö Raceway! 🥳

It’s also fun and at the same time kind of sad to see all the cars, drivers and teams that’s not with us in the Top Doorslammer class anymore! 🙃 It was something else for sure 12 years ago!

But we all have great memories from those days! ❤️ And I’m happy that I’ve got people in the team during the years that helped out to create and save the memories on both photo and in movies! 🤩

I want to say a huge thanks to all involved that made the Dala Street Open race at Dala Järna Raceway possible this past weekend! 🙏🏻😍

I did this Top Doorslammer exhibition race this year again because I want to support my home motor club SHRA Vansbro - Äppelbo, that together with Big Wheels Malung and Borlänge Dragracing Klubb arrange this event at my home track Dala Järna Raceway! 😃

I want to say a huge thanks to Dad and Sofi and a special thanks to Fredrik for helping out this weekend, with things he never done earlier! 😅

It’s not easy when you are missing people, especially people that are doing important things that makes all routines really simple to follow! 🤪

The weekend was kind of upside down for all of us but we did have a great time anyway, and that is pretty simple when you are around people with the same mindset and goal on the things you are doing! Having some fun! ❤️

Thanks to Lasse for helping us out and letting us use his shop to fix some issues! 🙏🏻 Thanks to Cissi for helping out on Saturday! 🙏🏻

I will sum up the weekend later, but first here is a video of our first and best round of the weekend, a slow 4.33 at 274 km/h! 🚙💨 But it’s pretty good anyway when you are making passes way powered down on an old airfield that’s not prepped for a car like this! 😎

We are at Dala Järna Raceway for some Top Doorslammer exhibition race this weekend with the Chevelle at the race Dala Street Open, arranged by my home motor club SHRA Vansbro - Äppelbo, together with Big Wheels Malung and Borlänge Dragracing Klubb! 😃

Me, Sofi and Fredrik arrived yesterday and did build our pit area, today we have done some changes / solved some issues on the Chevelle thanks to Lasse Israelsson! Thanks for that! 🙏🏻😍

Dad arrived this evening and we will continue the work on the car tomorrow morning! 🔧🚙💨

I have a plan to make 2-3 rounds tomorrow, and 2 on Sunday! 😎 Weather for the weekend looks great! 🥳
