Welcome to ÅBM Racing

Top Doorslammer

Me and Daniel did finally arrive at Santa Pod Raceway in England at 7 this morning after a 44-ish hour long trip through Europe from the ÅBM shop!

And I want to say a special thanks to Neale at Santa Pod for all the help with the customs papers that we needed because of Brexit! It went so smoothly both at the French border and then here at the border / customs in The UK! Would not been possible without the help from Neale! 😀

After that we got about 2.5 hours of sleep and then did roll into the track and started to set up our pit area and get things ready for the weekend!

After we got the pit area done we unloaded the Vette! And did put her on English soil for the first time!

After that Daniel started to finish up som small stuff and I did start to clean out the mess in the trailer! 🙂

Then she got her new pajamas on!

Preparations for the coming weekend will continue now for a couple of hours and then tomorrow so we will be ready for the Doorlammers race that starts on Friday!

Stay tuned!

Me and Daniel arrived in Travemunde 7 o’clock this morning!

Yesterday we took the trip from the ÅBM shop to the harbor in Malmö to catch the ferry over the night to Travemunde harbor!

The trip went pretty smooth!

And the check in was really simple when we got the passports with us… What a mess it was in 2019 when me and Max forgot them back home!…

On the boat it was really tight just like always!.. 🙂

For some reason we got upgraded from a regular cabin to a suite, and we did not complain about that! 😀 Well, we could have spent more time in it but it’s only a 9 hour trip!

In Germany. Here we go again!

It will be a lot of this riding through Europe today, we got about 800 kilometers to the next ferry in Dunkerque / France that will take us over to Dover in England!

Hopefully late tonight! 🙂

Me and Daniel did just leave the ÅBM shop and have started our trip to Santa Pod Raceway for the Doorslammers this coming weekend and then The Main Event next weekend! 🙂

Yesterday I went to Ludvika so we could take care of the last stuff and we did load up everything in the trailer!

After that I took the trip back to the ÅBM shop and we are now ready to hit the road and heading for Santa Pod Raceway for the race this coming weekend at The Doorslammers!

The 2024 season start is getting REALLY close now!

See you soon at Santa Pod Raceway!

We are getting really close for take off to Santa Pod Raceway!

The Scania truck finally got back to the ÅBM shop Saturday last week after the repairs / freshen up that’s been made during the winter! And what a difference it is! Thanks to all involved in this that made it happen!

Then I spent some time messing around with it due to some air leaks, it’s so much fun with an old truck! But I succeeded to repair the valve that caused the leak after some work with it!…

Then I installed arm rests on the “new” drivers seat to make it even more comfortable! And I must say WOW what a difference it is to drive it now, that old park bench that was in it before was junk already when we bought it in 2017! This was money WELL spent for sure!

After that I cleaned out the cabin / dumpster really good, installed the generator on the truck and did put the truck and trailer together again and took the trip to Opus car inspection in Norrtälje for the yearly control of the truck and trailer!

And it looks like the hard work during the winter payed off, because both passed without any problems! Thanks for the great customer service as always at this control station!

Then when I got back to the shop John The Sneaky Snake came by and washed of the rig!

After that I did some last messing around with stuff that needed to be prepared, loaded in the trailer, organized in the trailer to be able to go to Ludvika to load up the Vette!

I have spent about 160 hours in the shop during 8 days trying to get work stuff done and the racing circus ready to leave for Santa Pod on Monday next week, I did finally leave the ÅBM shop way delayed on Thursday evening for Ludvika to drop of the rig and then directly home to Vansbro for something really important!

Celebrate the love of my life and best friend Sofi that’s turning 40 years young on Monday! When I’m in the Scania on my way to England!

Then 2 days back home in Vansbro relaxing some and having a good time and then back to Ludvika on Sunday and load up the Vette and the missing parts around it, trying to organize the trailer a bit because it’s ha HUGE mess right now….

After that back to the ÅBM shop on Sunday and then leave for England on Monday!

England and Santa Pod Raceway, see you in less than one week from right now! 😀

Stay tuned!

Ok, let’s do some more Scania truck work!

Bänkt of course did his thing just like always, trying to keep everyone involved happy just like he always do! 🙂

In the beginning of March it was finally time for sand blasting of the frame from the cabin and back and after that the chassis got some paint to keep it from start rusting again!

Then after a couple of weeks it was time to continue with it!

So in the end of March Krille and Fredrik went to Ludvika to start assemble the truck again after sandblast and paint!

Of course Jörgen was there too and I want to say thanks to Pontus and Klas for helping out!

During the time I did some changes and finishing up things on the Vette that never was done when it was built!…

like holes in the 4-link brackets, window net that was installed way stupid and more!…

Bänkt wasn’t there so it was a pretty peaceful weekend!

Thanks to Jörgen and everyone involved for making this happen!

Scania truck work, it’s finally getting the love it should have been getting for a long time!!..

Since I bought the truck back in 2017 we knew we need to fix it up a bit because it is pretty rusty in the chassis!… And the years have passed by and nothing has happened due to a million reasons…. Mostly that we never started to do something I guess!..

And when I went to the last inspection in 2022 they told me that I must have the rust fixed to the next inspection for them to approve it! I knew that I won’t be able to make this work all by myself outside the shop so I assumed that this was it for the truck and I never got it inspected in 2023.

But now thanks to that I teamed up with Jörgen Berg and team Ludvika the truck is about to get a new life again so we can use it in 2024! In the beginning of December me, Jörgen, Bänkt and Klas spent one day starting to tear it down to see how much work it really needs!

This is all possible thanks to Jörgen because he is used to work on trucks like this and have a lot of experience the right connections to get parts and help, so once again teaming up with Jörgen is the best thing that could happen for me right now, everything feels so much easier when you get help with stuff you can’t handle yourself!

Thanks to everyone involved that makes this work out and a special thanks to Kenneth at Lastvagnsverkstan in Ludvika for letting us use the shop and tools!

More Scania truck work! The really bad rusty parts are gone and replaced with new beams!

In the mid of December me, Jörgen, Bänkt, Klas and Fredrik did continue the work on the Scania truck and made some real progress! It’s really on its way back to life now and that feels so crazy good!

This is once again possible thanks to Jörgen and the help from whole team Ludvika!

Once again I want to say thanks to everyone involved that makes this work out and again a special thanks to Kenneth at Lastvagnsverkstan in Ludvika for letting us use the shop and tools!

Next step is sand blasting the frame from the cabin and back and then it will get a good chassis paint to keep it from start rusting again!

After that the fun starts when it’s time to assemble everything again with new fenders, body panels, lights and so!

It’s a new year and a fresh start for Berg & Sjödin Motorsport, we hope you all had an awesome Christmas and New Year!

THANKS once again for 2023!

2023 was fun! And that’s all because Sjödin teamed up with Berg! The plan was to do some test rounds in 2023 with the Vette but we fell in love with each other so we will continue this love story in 2024 also!

We will do some FIA Pro Modified Dragracing with Jörgens Corvette -79 in season 2024! How much depends on fundings and help to make this possible!

But we know we will start our season at Santa Pod Raceway and The Doorslammers in May and then continue with FIA round 1 the weekend after at The Main Event!

We are looking for partners to team up with for 2024 to make our plans possible!

See y’all in 2024!

Sorry, only in Swedish!
